Car Shipping in Weston, Davie, Plantation & Sunrise, FL

West Broward is built around the highways. I-595 runs east to west through Davie and Plantation, I-75 heads up the west side past Weston, and the Sawgrass Expressway curves north through Sunrise. That makes this part of the county one of the easiest for car carriers to reach. The challenge is the last stretch, because most of Weston and big parts of Plantation and Sunrise sit inside planned communities with gates, guards and HOA rules.

Four cities, four kinds of pickup

Weston

Weston is almost entirely planned communities, many of them gated, with landscaped boulevards and strict HOA rules. Interior roads are often fine for a carrier, but many associations limit commercial trucks or require a gate pass. The usual plan is to check with your HOA first. If trucks aren’t allowed, we meet in a lot near the community’s main entrance, such as the shopping centers along Weston Road, Bonaventure Boulevard or Indian Trace.

Davie

Davie still has a ranch-town feel west of University Drive, with large lots, horse properties and long private drives off Orange Drive, Griffin Road and Stirling Road. A carrier can often get close, but soft shoulders, unpaved drives and low tree cover can rule out a doorstep pickup. Tell us if your driveway is gravel, sand or shell rock. East Davie, near the colleges and State Road 7, is a mix of apartments, student housing and commercial streets.

Plantation

Plantation’s older neighborhoods have wide streets but heavy tree canopy, and the newer communities further west are gated. Broward Boulevard, Peters Road and Pine Island Road are the main loading routes. Low oaks on residential streets are the most common reason we switch to a meeting point here.

Sunrise

Sunrise has apartment complexes, gated communities and big commercial areas around Sawgrass Mills and the arena. Apartment lots are often tight for a carrier, and many complexes don’t allow tractor-trailers at all. Meeting in a large commercial lot nearby is quick and easy.

Students and the South Florida Education Center

Davie is home to Nova Southeastern University’s main campus at 3301 College Avenue. Across the way is the South Florida Education Center, where FAU’s Davie campus (3200 College Avenue) shares space with Broward College. August move-in and May move-out are the busy weeks. Campus roads and residence-hall lots generally aren’t built for car carriers, so pickups and deliveries are usually set for a nearby lot. Our college car shipping guide for NSU and FAU covers timing and what to bring.

Dealers and the Manheim auction

Manheim Fort Lauderdale is at 5353 S State Road 7 in Davie, which makes west Broward a hub for dealer and auction moves. If you buy at the sale or need cars moved between lots, see auction and Manheim car transport and our dealer auto transport page. Buyers can also read our Manheim pickup checklist.

HOA pickup checklist for west Broward

  • Read your HOA’s commercial vehicle rules or call the management office. Ask about hours, weekend limits and whether a gate pass is needed.
  • Get the driver on the gate list with a pickup window, not just a date.
  • Clear the street. Move other cars and trash bins so the carrier has room to load.
  • Agree on a backup meeting point in case the truck can’t fit, such as a plaza near the main gate.

Weston, Davie, Plantation & Sunrise questions

Will the carrier come inside my Weston community?

It depends on your HOA. Some allow car carriers on weekdays, and some don’t allow them at all. Check with management. If trucks aren’t allowed, we meet you near the main entrance.

I have a long gravel drive in Davie. Can the truck use it?

Probably not. A loaded carrier is heavy and can sink or get stuck on soft ground. The driver will load from the paved road or a nearby lot.

Can you deliver a car to an NSU or FAU Davie student?

Yes. Campus lots usually can’t fit a carrier, so we pick a nearby meeting point and confirm it with the student ahead of time.

How far ahead should I book?

Two to three weeks is comfortable for most lanes. Give it more time in snowbird season, around the start of the fall term, or if you need an enclosed truck.

CTA: Send us your community or street, where the car is going and your dates. We’ll come back with a ballpark starting estimate and a pickup plan that fits your HOA.

Ready to get a quote?

Tell us where the car is, where it’s going and roughly when. We’ll give you a ballpark starting estimate, match you with a licensed carrier that runs the lane, and handle the booking from there.
