Winning a car at auction is the fun part. Getting it off the lot and home is where buyers lose time and money, mostly to small things like a missing release or a pickup that misses the gate hours. This checklist walks you through getting a vehicle out of Manheim Fort Lauderdale in Davie and onto a licensed carrier.
A quick note: we’re not part of Manheim. We arrange transport from the auction to wherever the car needs to go. Always confirm current hours and rules with Manheim directly, because they can change.
Know the location
Manheim Fort Lauderdale is at 5353 S State Road 7, Davie, FL 33314, on State Road 7 (US-441) in Davie, close to I-595. For carriers, the location is easy. I-595 connects to I-95 and I-75 within minutes, and Florida’s Turnpike is close by. That’s one reason Broward auction moves tend to be straightforward once the paperwork is in order.
Know the calendar
When we checked Manheim’s location page on October 31, 2026, it listed:
- Sale days: Tuesdays (Total Resource Auctions, 9:30am ET) and Fridays (open sale, 9am ET)
- Office hours: Mon 9am–3pm, Tue 7:30am–3pm, Wed–Thu 9am–3pm, Fri 7:30am–3pm
- Pickup gate hours: Mon–Thu 7am–8pm, Fri 7am–10pm, Sat–Sun 7am–8pm
Gate hours run longer than office hours. A carrier can often collect a released car in the evening or on a weekend, but any paperwork problem has to be solved while the office is open. Plan around that.
The buyer’s checklist
Before the sale
- Know your storage terms. Auctions give buyers a set window to remove vehicles before storage fees start. Check your buyer terms for this sale.
- Have transport lined up. Send us your likely destination ahead of time. We can tell you the realistic pickup window for that lane before you bid.
- Know your vehicle. If you might buy a non-running unit, an oversized truck or a high-value car, tell us. Each one needs different equipment.
Right after you win
- Pay promptly. The release depends on payment clearing.
- Get the release or gate pass and send it to us with the VIN, lot or stock number, year, make and model.
- Confirm the vehicle’s condition. Save the auction’s condition report so you can compare it at delivery.
- Give us the delivery details. That’s the address, a contact name and phone, and any hours your lot receives vehicles.
Booking transport
- We match a licensed carrier running the lane out of Davie and set the pickup window.
- Ask about multi-unit loads if you won several cars. A carrier may take several together.
- Consider expedited if your storage deadline is close. An expedited pickup costs more than standard open transport, and it can still be cheaper than days of storage.
At pickup
- The driver presents the release at the gate.
- The car is inspected and existing damage is noted on the carrier’s inspection report.
- The car is loaded and the driver heads out.
At delivery
- Check the car against both the pickup inspection report and the auction’s condition report.
- Note any new damage on the delivery report before you sign.
- Keep copies of everything.
What holds pickups up
In our experience, the most common delays are:
1. The release isn’t ready. Payment hasn’t cleared, or the gate pass hasn’t been issued yet.
2. The details don’t match. A wrong stock number or VIN on the order means the driver can’t find the car or can’t take it.
3. Non-running cars aren’t flagged. A car that won’t start needs a winch truck, and a regular carrier will have to leave it.
4. Sale-day crowds. Friday afternoons are busy at the gate. A Monday or Tuesday pickup is often quicker.

Local delivery in Broward
Not every auction car leaves the state. Plenty go a few miles to a dealer lot or a buyer’s home in Broward. Short local moves work the same way. The driver collects from the gate and delivers to your lot or address. If you live in a condo or gated community, see our condo and HOA pickup guide for delivery tips, or check your city on Areas We Serve.
Manheim pickup questions
Can a carrier pick up on a weekend?
Manheim’s listed gate hours include Saturday and Sunday, so a released car can often be collected then. Confirm with Manheim, and remember the office is closed if there’s a paperwork problem.
Do I need a dealer license to use your transport?
No. We move cars for dealers and for individual buyers. Manheim’s own rules decide who can buy.
Can you pick up cars bought at the Tuesday Total Resource Auctions sale?
Yes. Once the car is released, pickup works the same way.
Will you move a car that doesn’t run?
Yes, with a winch-equipped carrier. Tell us up front so we book the right truck.
CTA: Send us the VIN, the release and the destination. We’ll come back with a ballpark starting estimate and the earliest realistic pickup from Davie.
Ready to get a quote?
Tell us where the car is, where it’s going and roughly when. We’ll give you a ballpark starting estimate, match you with a licensed carrier that runs the lane, and handle the booking from there.
