Expedited Car Shipping in Fort Lauderdale

Most car shipments work on a pickup window. You give us a range of dates, we match a licensed carrier that’s running your lane, and the driver picks up within that window. Expedited shipping narrows the window. We put your car at the front of the line for carriers on your lane and pay the premium it takes to get one to commit sooner. It costs more, and it’s worth it when your timing really can’t move.

What expedited means (and what it doesn’t)

Expedited is about pickup timing. You get a shorter pickup window and priority placement with carriers on your route. Once the car is loaded, it travels the lane like any other shipment. Transit time depends on distance, hours-of-service rules for drivers, weather and traffic on I-95 or I-75.

What expedited doesn’t mean:

  • It’s not a guaranteed delivery date. No honest carrier can promise an exact delivery date across 1,000 miles of interstate. We give you a realistic window, and the driver keeps you updated.
  • It’s not a dedicated truck. Your car still rides on a multi-car carrier. That’s what keeps expedited affordable compared with a single-car haul.
  • It’s not a way around paperwork. You still need the keys, a clean inspection at pickup and someone available at both ends.

When expedited makes sense

  • A closing or lease start. Your new place in Fort Lauderdale opens on a fixed date, and you need the car there soon after.
  • A job start or military report date. The new job or report date isn’t moving.
  • A flight already booked. You’re flying out of FLL and want the car picked up before you leave.
  • A sale with a deadline. You bought a car, the seller or dealer wants it gone, and storage fees start soon. Auction buyers often face this at Manheim Fort Lauderdale. See auction car transport.
  • Late-season snowbird runs. You booked late, and northbound lanes in April and May (or southbound lanes in November and December) are already tight.

If your dates can flex by even a few days, standard open transport is usually the better value. A flexible window gives the carrier room to fit your car into a route they’re already running.

What it costs

Expedited costs more than standard open transport because we’re asking a carrier to adjust its route or prioritize your car. Here are the starting estimates on some of our most common Fort Lauderdale lanes, taken from the live route pages:

LaneOpen, fromExpedited, fromRoute page
Fort Lauderdale to Orlando$350$450view lane
Fort Lauderdale to Tampa$400$510view lane
Atlanta to Fort Lauderdale$615$785view lane
Fort Lauderdale to New York$985$1,260view lane
Chicago to Fort Lauderdale$1,020$1,305view lane
Fort Lauderdale to Key West$350$375view lane

These are ballpark starting estimates, not quotes. They change with fuel prices, the season, local events and how busy the lane is that week. You get a firm price once a carrier commits to your dates. For a wider look at pricing, see our Fort Lauderdale car shipping cost guide.

How to speed things up on your end

Even with expedited, a few things on your side can save a day:

  • Be ready on day one. Have the car clean, with about a quarter tank and personal items removed, before the pickup window opens.
  • Pick an easy pickup spot. If you live in a condo on A1A or a gated community in Weston or Parkland, a meeting point in a big plaza lot gets the driver in and out faster. Our condo and HOA pickup guide explains how.
  • Keep your phone on. Drivers call ahead, often the evening before. A missed call can push the pickup back.
  • Have a backup person. If you can’t be there, name someone who can hand over the keys and sign the inspection report.

Expedited and enclosed together

You can combine expedited with enclosed transport, but enclosed trucks are fewer, so the narrow window is harder to fill. If you have a collector car and a hard deadline, call us as early as you can. Lead time matters more for enclosed than for any other kind of shipment.

Expedited car shipping questions

Can you guarantee my car is picked up tomorrow?

We can’t guarantee a date. We can put your car at the top of the list and tell you honestly how likely a fast pickup is on your lane. Short in-state lanes and busy I-95 lanes fill fastest.

Does expedited mean faster delivery?

It mainly means faster pickup. Once loaded, the car moves at the normal pace for the lane. The route page shows the usual transit window.

Is expedited worth it in snowbird season?

If your dates are fixed and the lane is tight, often yes. If you can flex a few days, standard open transport usually costs less and still gets there.

Can I upgrade to expedited after booking?

Usually. Call us at (754) 946-4922 and we’ll see what’s available on your lane.

CTA: Tell us your route and your deadline. We’ll tell you straight whether expedited is worth it, give you a ballpark starting estimate, and get your car to the top of the list.

Ready to get a quote?

Tell us where the car is, where it’s going and roughly when. We’ll give you a ballpark starting estimate, match you with a licensed carrier that runs the lane, and handle the booking from there.
