Pompano Beach, Lighthouse Point and Deerfield Beach make up the north end of Broward’s coast, a short run up I-95 from our yard on NW 55th St. It’s one of the most seasonal parts of the county. Beach condos fill up in winter, and the canal neighborhoods and 55+ communities see a steady flow of cars coming and going. Here’s how car shipping works along this stretch.
A coast of condos, canals and 55+ communities
Each part of this area brings a different kind of pickup:
- Beachfront towers on A1A. These run along Pompano Beach Boulevard, North Ocean Boulevard and the Hillsboro Mile. A1A is narrow and busy, with no shoulder for a carrier, and condo garages are far too low for the truck. Cars are almost always brought out to a nearby lot.
- Lighthouse Point and the canal neighborhoods. These are quiet residential streets, many ending at the water, with low tree canopies and tight turnarounds. A full-size carrier often can’t turn around at a dead end, so we plan a pickup at the closest through street or a commercial lot on Federal Highway.
- Deerfield Beach’s 55+ communities. Big age-restricted communities off Hillsboro Boulevard and Military Trail have gatehouses, visitor passes and strict rules about large trucks. A meeting point outside the main gate is the usual plan.
- Inland Pompano. The neighborhoods around Palm Aire and along Atlantic Boulevard, Sample Road and Copans Road are generally easier, with wider streets and more room to load.
Snowbird central
North Broward’s coast is full of winter residents. A lot of our Pompano and Deerfield moves are snowbird runs: the car comes down I-95 from the Northeast or down I-75 from the Midwest in October through December, then heads back in April or May. Northbound lanes fill fastest in spring, so book the trip home early if you can. Our snowbird auto transport page covers the full season, and the 2026–27 season guide has this year’s timing.
Tips for condo and HOA pickups
- Tell the front desk or gate ahead of time. Give them your name, the date and the pickup window, and say a large car-transport truck is coming.
- Check the building’s moving rules. Some associations limit commercial vehicles to weekday hours or need a certificate of insurance on file. Ask management early so there’s time to sort it out.
- Mind the garage. Car carriers are far too tall for parking garages, and even pickup trucks with roof racks can scrape low entrances. The car comes out to the truck, not the other way around.
- Pick a meeting spot together. Shopping-plaza lots along Federal Highway, Atlantic Boulevard and Hillsboro Boulevard are common choices. We confirm the spot with you before pickup day.

Roads in and out
Carriers serving Pompano and Deerfield come off I-95 at Atlantic Boulevard, Copans Road, Sample Road, SW 10th Street and Hillsboro Boulevard, or off Florida’s Turnpike at Atlantic Boulevard and Coconut Creek Parkway. The Sawgrass Expressway connects in the northwest for trucks coming off I-75. Morning and evening rush on I-95 through Pompano is heavy, and A1A is slow all winter. Midday pickups inland are usually quickest.

Open or enclosed?
Most cars in Pompano and Deerfield ship on open carriers. That’s the most affordable option, and it’s what dealerships use. Enclosed makes sense for classics, convertibles you’d rather keep out of the weather, and low-clearance cars. Pompano Beach & Deerfield Beach questions
Can the carrier pick up right in front of my beach condo?
Usually not on A1A itself, because there’s nowhere safe for a carrier to stop. We set a nearby meeting point, and you or the building valet bring the car over.
I live in a 55+ community in Deerfield. Will the truck be allowed in?
Some communities allow it on weekdays and some don’t allow it at all. Check with your management office. If trucks aren’t allowed, the driver meets you just outside the main gate.
When should I book a spring trip north?
Northbound lanes tighten from April through May. Booking a few weeks ahead gives you more carrier options. Flexible pickup dates usually get a better price.
Do you ship from Lighthouse Point canal homes?
Yes. Because of the tight dead-end streets, the pickup is often at the nearest through street or a lot on Federal Highway. We’ll work it out with you ahead of time.
CTA: Tell us your building or neighborhood, where the car is going and your dates. We’ll send a ballpark starting estimate and a pickup plan that fits your street.
Ready to get a quote?
